About Us
Fario Fishing Lodge is a family-run fishing lodge in Santo Tomás, Neuquén, in Northern Patagonia, Argentina.
Led by Diego Rodríguez, with over 25 years of guiding experience, our team specializes in fly fishing on the Limay River, with trips to other nearby rivers and lakes according to conditions.
We welcome experienced anglers and beginners alike, tailoring each trip to your interests and experience. After a day on the water, return to comfortable accommodation, freshly prepared meals, and warm Argentine hospitality.

Why the Name “Fario”?
The name Fario comes from the scientific name of the brown trout: Salmo trutta fario.
Originally introduced to Patagonia in the early 1900s, brown trout have thrived in the region’s cold, wild rivers and lakes for more than a century.
Today they are the true giants of the Limay River and one of the most iconic species for fly fishing in Northern Patagonia.
At Fario Fishing Lodge, the name represents our deep connection with these legendary fish and the wild waters they inhabit.
