Tourist Lodge in Chocon

The perfect combination of comfort and nature.

Our lodge is nestled in the heart of Villa El Chocón, a quiet and iconic village in Northern Patagonia. Overlooking the turquoise waters of Lake Ezequiel Ramos Mexía, it offers a peaceful base with stunning sunsets, personalized service, and exceptional comfort.

Guests enjoy access to the lower Limay River — famous for its monster brown trout and crystal-clear waters.

When not fishing, you can explore dinosaur museums, fossil trails, and the unique red canyons that define this prehistoric landscape.

The culinary experience at the lodge is a highlight in itself, featuring international-quality gourmet cuisine prepared with local ingredients, paired with Patagonian wines.

We’re also just a short drive from some of Patagonia’s top boutique wineries, where guests can enjoy tastings of world-class regional wines.

Whether you’re chasing trout, tasting Malbec, or soaking in ancient landscapes, this lodge delivers a truly unique Patagonian experience.

Our Lodge in the Lake

Our lodge sits atop a cliff overlooking Lake Ezequiel Ramos Mexía, just minutes from the village.

Surrounded by wild Patagonian nature, it offers breathtaking panoramic views and deep, uninterrupted silence.

After a day of fishing or exploring the red canyons, this is the perfect place to unwind — with a glass of wine, a home-cooked meal, and the sun setting over the lake.

Dinosaur Valley Lodge

Villa El Chocón is a small tourist town of 2,500 inhabitants, internationally recognized for its paleontology and has the largest artificial lake in Argentina. This lake was formed by the hydroelectric dam that supplies electricity to 20% of the country. The main tourist attractions of the city are the museum, the hydroelectric dam, numerous viewpoints, the Cañadón Escondido trail, the dinosaur footprints, Los Gigantes and the reservoir.

The Ernesto Bachmann Paleontological Museum was created after the discovery of the remains of Giganotosaurus carolinii, one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs in the world, found in July 1993 by Rubén Darío Carolini, 18 kilometers southwest of Villa El Chocón.
